Castellar de N'Hug and the source of the River Llobregat

The source of the River Llobregat is at an altitude of 1,300 m, from where its sources spring forth between the limestone rock and the plant life, under the crags where the town of Castellar de n'Hug is located. They are groundwater emergences fed by the waters of the snow and the rain.

The town of Castellar de n'Hug has been restored respecting the former structure and traditional architecture of the municipality, pebbled streets, houses with thick stone walls, wooden shutters and typical Catalan roof tiles. The church of Santa Maria de n’Hug is in the Plaça Generalitat; the town still preserves its former public wash house and a viewpoint with beautiful views of the Pedraforca, the Rasos de Peguera, part of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park and the beginning of the Llobregat Valley.
